Back on the boat and then on to a village that is practicing a sustainable lifestyle. This might seem obvious in a jungle community but in fact there is plenty of modern waste and destruction going here as anywhere. This town, Puerto Narino however is really quite charming. There are no roads of course but they have neat pathways throughout with flowered landscaping . They keep it very clean and rubbish free. It looks to be a truly livable lifestyle. Kids frolic in the river. One is surrounded by fruit laden trees and the Amazon is full of fish. Not bad.

But now onwards to our next quest, the great search for the elusive pink river dolphins. We careen up inlets and side tributaries straining our eyes on the water surface. There one is !! much excitement. It's good to have a quest. It could have been anything we were seeking and it would have been fun. But lets face it, pink dolphins are pretty cool. It must have something to do with their diet. We ended up spotting quite a number of them.
Oh yes, one last thing, as we go barreling back down river to Leticia, suddenly Bam! we hit something big. I am jolted out of my afternoon stupor as the boat bounces up from the water then comes to a dead stop. We decide not to panic as the captain seems to maintain his cool. Anyway it's too hot and humid to get too excited about anything. Oh well, someone will come along eventually in a dug out. After a lot of tinkering about el Capitan gets us motoring again. It was just a little extra offered up to us adventure hungry tourists.
