Ok, well today we walked and walked, and then we walked. We visited the Gold
Museum which explains the Spanish invasion. Forte Knox has got nothing on
this. I'd guess the value of the place has gone up a wee bit in the last
year. Bogota is 7800 feet in elevation causing us to puff and pant a bit. We
took the tram up the vertical mountain side another 2000 feet to the top of
Montserrat. Gasp gasp. Great view of the city though. So if we're panting,
how does it explain the crying baby going on and on and on? Run out of
breath why don¹t cha? In the main cathedral they have a vivid
representation of Christ crawling on the ground, long hair streaming with
agonized eyes bulging. Now those Spaniards really know how to get the most
out of sadistic imagery. Tomorrow we're off to the Amazon, yes. Very
exciting.
